Ambivalent - probably for growth option but will growth pan out?

I am coming to this discussion late, I know. And it looks like the Commission has tried to struggle with a lot of important issues which I appreciate (I was involved in the 2000 redistricting.) I live in the original part of the historic district - the original Wines & Johnson cross streets and have been concerned about these neighborhoods being kept intact. It looks for the most part that this has happened and that my neighbors across the street and I will be in the same Ward. I am concerned that some of the homes going toward Jefferson street on 42nd Avenue or on the east side Hamilton St are not in a newly created Ward 1. On the other hand it does look like folks further down 42nd will be reunited with others from the historic district. Personally, it does mean that I will no longer be in Ward 2, a Ward I represented for 2 terms - it also means I will be separated from my current Ward 2 representatives. Change is hard. I also have questions about conditioning these changes on population that is to come. How sure are we about these developments? Will they be rental units or purchased homes? Will current economics stall the developments?
