The Teen Center at Nicholson Park
How do you envision Nicholson Park?
The Teen Center, currently located at Driskell Park, is planning a move! The Center’s new home will be in the soon to be renovated building adjacent to Nicholson Park, near the corner of Nicholson Street and 40th Avenue. The park and adjacent lot will be enhanced to accommodate the Center, its visitors, and the surrounding community.
The City contracted the Neighborhood Design Center (NDC) to engage with the community on the future of the park. Learn more about the engagement process and final design documents below.
The existing park

Nicholson Park is currently a small park on the east side of the future Teen Center with shade trees and a patch of lawn. It is located on a regional bus line and adjacent to a small retail center with a restaurant, day care, dry cleaner, and convenience store. The rest of the surrounding neighborhood is single family homes. The lot to the west of the existing building will be incorporated into the future park, and currently consists of a sloped lawn.
Like other City parks, the future park grounds will be open dawn to dusk. Regular Teen Center activities will happen weekdays, with occasional weekend events. The Teen Center is expected to open in 2025.
