Street Art Pilot Project

The Department of Public Works is seeking your input on a pilot project to beautify City streets with art! Painted designs will add a pop of color to the streetscape while also defining traffic & pedestrian right of ways.

The City of Hyattsville is working with Toole Design and Baltimore-based creative agency Graham Projects to design the spaces with your input!

Designs will be added to:

• Jefferson and 40th Ave
• Church Place

Why street art?

Installing high contrast designs on roadways provides increased visibility for drivers and pedestrians, slowing traffic and more clearly defining the pedestrian right of way.

Street art can also be used to activate public places, adding life and vibrancy to what is otherwise a utilitarian space.

All designs utilize a high-friction, commercial grade pavement coating to ensure they stand the test of time and are safe to walk on.
