
Jamestown Road Traffic Calming
The Jamestown Road project aims to create a neighborhood green street that will improve pedestrian and cyclist safety and reduce localized flooding.
The City is working with Pennoni to analyze technical studies and community input. The final plan will identify practical short- and long-term solutions to calm traffic and enhance stormwater management.

At the December 2, 2025 Community Meeting, representatives from the City's Department of Public Works presented proposed improvements to Jamestown Road as part of the Green Street project. Improvements are in the categories of Bike Network Connections, Safety Improvements, and Stormwater Management.
Community feedback on these measures will be used in collaboration with technical studies to develop a final implementation plan and construction schedule. If you prefer to share your feedback in person, a second community meeting will be held on January 20, at 6:30 p.m. (location TBD).
Both short-term and long-term improvements are proposed:
Short-term improvements
Review a map of the short-term improvements
Bike Network Connections:
- Sharrows painted along the length of Jamestown Road
Safety Improvements:
- New or restriped crosswalks at all intersections
- Temporary curb extensions using plastic delineators and paint installed at the intersections with Lancer Drive, Madison Street, Manorwood Drive, and Nicholson Street
Long-term improvements
Review a map of the long-term improvements
Safety Improvements:
- Improved and connected sidewalks along the length of Jamestown Road
- Raised crosswalk installed between Madison Street and Madison Place
- Permanent curb extensions at the intersections with 30th Avenue, 31st Avenue, Kimberly Road, Lancer Drive, Lancer Place, Madison Street, Madison Place, Manorwood Drive, and Nicholson Street.
Stormwater Management:
- Raingarden installations to capture stormwater at the intersections with Ager Road, 29th Avenue, 31st Avenue, Lancer Drive, Manorwood Drive, Nicholson Street, and 35th Place.
