Hamilton Street Traffic Calming Measures
The City of Hyattsville is evaluating traffic calming measures for Hamilton Street between 40th and 42nd Avenues and and 41st Street between Hamilton and Jefferson Streets in order to reduce speeding, discourage aggressive driving, and provide a more pedestrian-friendly environment without the need for major infrastructure changes.
The proposed traffic calming plan was shared with community members at a public meeting on March 7, 2024.
Community members are invited to provide feedback below until April 8, 2024.
Please note that this project does not include suggested improvements to the multi-street intersection on Hamilton Street in front of Driskell Park. Learn more about that project here!

Phases
Review of Feedback & Presentation to Council
Results from the community input period will be incorporated into a final plan for City Council review and approval.
At this time, the project is on hold while the City makes determinations on potential changes to the Driskell Park intersection at Hamilton Street, Gallatin Street, and 40th Ave. You can learn more about that project here.
