Cindy Zork1 month ago Residents concerned about road safety on their block can request the City assess the street for potential traffic calming measures by using a Traffic Calming Petition. Instructions for submitting the petition and a list of streets already under consideration for traffic calming interventions are available at hyattsville.org/streets.The City is in the process of installing automated stop sign cameras at high-risk intersections across the City. Learn more about the stop sign camera program on our Police web pages. If you are concerned about an intersection where you have observed repeated stop sign violations, please contact the Hyattsville Police non-emergency line at (301) 985-5060.

Cindy Zork2 months ago Trash that is too large to fit in your City issued trash bin is considered bulk waste. Pick-ups for bulk waste must be scheduled in advance as they require a specialized collection. Please do not leave them curbside with your trash bin on your regular collection day - they will not be collected and you may face a fine!To schedule a bulk waste pick-up, visit hyattsville.org/requests, use the MyHyattsville app, or call (301) 985-5032 between 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.Not all bulk waste items can be collected. Materials like construction debris, hazardous waste, and tree stumps or logs are not accepted. This can be confusing because the U.S. Postal Service designates Hyattsville addresses to a larger area than the incorporated City of Hyattsville.The best way to determine if you live in the City limits is by checking your address on the interactive map at hyattsville.org/isithyattsville.Residents of the incorporated City of Hyattsville pay City taxes in addition to County taxes, and receive additional services from the City. This includes trash and compost collection, maintenance of City-owned roadways, City police, parking, and code compliance service, and resident discounts to City programs, like Summer Camps. They are also represented on Hyattsville's City Council by two Councilmembers from the City Ward they live in.
