Driskell Park Intersection

The City is evaluating proposed improvements to the multi-street intersection at the entrance to Driskell Park for safer use by pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles, and bus transit. The proposed improvements prioritize the most vulnerable road users while maintaining efficient traffic flow.

This 5-leg intersection is comprised of:

  • Hamilton Street (west)
  • 40th Avenue (north)
  • The David C. Driskell Community Park entrance (south)
  • Hamilton Street and Gallatin Street (east)

A few alternative solutions were shared with community members at a public meeting on March 7, 2024, along with the benefits and setbacks of each option.

Based on community and staff feedback, Option 2 was selected as the proposed alternative and presented to City Council in December 2024.

Community members are invited to join staff from the Department of Public Works to review and discuss the design alternatives for the Driskell Park intersection on Wednesday, January 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Driskell Park Recreation Center, 3911 Hamilton Street.
