Mayor and City Council Compensation Review
Background Information
Hyattsville's elected body is made up of a Mayor and ten Councilmembers. There are two Councilmembers for each of the City's five wards, serving staggered four year terms. The Mayor and Councilmembers are non-partisan and there are no term limits.
Every four years, a Compensation Review Committee is formed to review and make recommendations for the compensation of the Mayor and all City Councilmembers for period of three to five years. The 2022-2023 Compensation Committee is reviewing salary recommendations for 2025-2029.
