Traffic Calming Petition
Residents along 42nd Avenue submitted a petition in January 2025 to evaluate the intersection with Kennedy Street for installation of traffic calming devices.

The petition was received by City Clerk’s Office, who validated the petition met the 60% signature requirement per City Code Section 114-8 (B). The petition was submitted to the Department of Public Works for evaluation.
Public Hearing
City Council scheduled a Public Hearing for July 21, 2025 to hear public testimony regarding this petition. A notice of the hearing was mailed to residents along 42nd Avenue in the area between Jefferson and Longfellow Streets.
During the Hearing City staff presented an overview of the conditions in the petitioned area. Public testimony was received from six (6) residents. Read the meeting minutes.
