Roadway Classifications

Wondering about the measures used behind the "roadway classification" map? Adelphi Rd is a major artery but it's labeled local. East-West Hwy, similarly, is a major roadway but labeled collector. Other roadways that seem inappropriately classified include Route 1 Alternate, Ager Rd., and possibly Belcrest -- based, in part at least, on the numbers and frequency of auto drivers directed along these streets by commonly-used GPS apps, such as Google Maps and Waze.
