As much as possible, it would be great to have the playground equipment make use of the shade provided by the trees. Playgrounds get so hot in the sun that it's sometimes hard to stay and play, and this park has some tree cover potential!

Our 2-year-old loves playing here and we'd love a new playground that incorporated equipment for little kids like this one does. He likes to remember parks by their identifying feature (this is fire truck park, Driskell is train park, Deitz is ant park, etc). so a unique play element would be great from his perspective as well as some traditional elements like swings and slides.

King Park naturally has a lot of shade in the morning, when it's shielded by the building next door. Equipment placement could take advantage of that, especially if the park loses some of its mature trees during the renovation.
