How do I request a stoplight?

The City of Hyattsville does not operate or maintain stoplights. All current traffic signals in the City are maintained by either the Maryland State Highway Administration or the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works & Transportation, depending on who owns the road. You can check which agency is responsible for road maintenance using our jurisdiction map at hyattsville.org/streets.

• To request a new traffic signal be considered for a Prince George’s County owned road, residents can call 311 or make an online request at pgc311.com.
• To request a new traffic signal be considered for a Maryland State road, residents can make an online request at https://mdotsha.my.salesforce-sites.com/customercare/request_for_service.

After a request is received, the agency will explore the feasibility of the installation based on an investigation of current road conditions and accident data.
